Guaranty Bank & Trust Taps Bourne to Lead Austin Market

September 2, 2023

Chris BourneChris Bourne has joined Mount Pleasant-based Guaranty Bank & Trust as Austin area chairman.

“Chris is the proven leader with the right community bank experience and knowledge to continue building the strong Guaranty brand we have established since expanding to Austin in 2017,” says Travis Brown, senior executive vice president.

Prior to joining Guaranty Bank & Trust, Bourne’s career included key leadership positions, including as executive vice president/Central Texas regional president for Sunflower Bank, team leader/senior commercial lender for American Bank, executive vice president/chief lending officer for Anthem Bank & Trust and executive vice president/market president for Colonial Bank—all in the Austin area.

Bourne earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas–Austin and an MBA degree from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas–Dallas. He also attended the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Bourne is actively involved in a variety of community/professional organizations, including volunteer work at the Austin Stone Community Church and serving on the board of Hope4Minds, a nonprofit organization committed to fostering hope and enriching the lives of children with acquired brain injuries. He is also active in national, regional and local banking organizations in Austin.

Established in 1913, Guaranty Bank & Trust operates 34 banking offices in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Houston region and Central and East Texas.
