Guest Retiring at Year’s End as CEO from Citizens National Bank at Brownwood

December 1, 2022

John P. GuestJohn P. Guest, CEO of Citizens National Bank at Brownwood, announced that he is retiring at the end of the year after 40 years of service in the Texas community banking industry. He will continue to serve on the bank’s board of directors.

A native of Abilene, Guest moved to Brownwood in 1979 and worked as an emergency loan supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration. He launched his career with Citizens National Bank in 1982 in an entry-level support position for loan officers. In 2010, he was promoted to president and in 2014 was promoted again, this time to CEO.

John earned his BS degree in agriculture business from Tarleton State University. He also earned a postgraduate degree from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. In his 40 years with the bank, he has made many contributions to the bank, as well as to the community of Brown County.
