TIB’s O’Rourke Honored with 2023 IBAT Chairman’s Award During Community Bankers Convention

November 16, 2023

Michael O'RourkeOn September 18, the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) honored Michael G. O’Rourke with the 2023 IBAT Chairman’s Award. O’Rourke, president and CEO of Farmers Branch-based TIB NA, was presented the prestigious award during the IBAT 49th Annual Convention at the Omni PGA Resort in Frisco.

The IBAT Chairman’s Award is the association’s highest honor, selected solely at the discretion of the IBAT chairman, which, during the past year, was K. Kyle Irwin. It is given to an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to the community banking industry, going above and beyond the call of duty.

O’Rourke joined TIB in 1984 as senior vice president and chief credit officer, shortly after serving with First City Bank of Dallas for five years. In 1991, he was named executive vice president/chief lending officer, taking on the responsibilities of managing the correspondent lending division. Eight years later, he was named president of TIB’s investment arm, TIB Capital Markets. Shortly thereafter, in 2000, he was named a director of TIB. In 2005, he was elevated to the roles of president and CEO of what is the nation’s largest bankers’ bank.

TIB delivers more than 30 correspondent banking products and services to nearly 1,400 community financial institutions nationwide.
